Introduction

The National Federation of Theatre and Dance Business Associations (Federación Estatal de Asociaciones de Empresas de Teatro y Danza (FAETEDA)), was created on 29th November 1996 to promote the industrialisation, modernisation, supporting and structuring of the theatre sector in Spain.

FAETEDA is currently formed by 17 associations that represent almost 400 theatre and dance businesses and production companies throughout the country.

FAETEDA encourages the relationship and exchange of information among its different associations, leading to synergy that is necessary among professionals from the different regions and establishing itself as the sole spokesperson with national administrative and professional authorities. As representative of the entire private stage sector in Spain, FAETEDA is open to permanent dialogue with the Ministry of Culture, the National Network of Theatres and Auditoriums, all those involved in public theatre, different national and international structures of the performing arts and all organisations and groups (actors, authors and directors, etc.) working in the theatre sector.

FAETEDA is a member of PEARLE (Performing Arts Employers Associations League Europe).
